Hannah Butler

I graduated from Temple University (Philadelphia, PA) in 2005, where I majored in Business with a concentration in actuarial studies. Within Aspen, I am a part of the Actuarial team, based in Bermuda.

Whilst attending university, I participated in internships within the insurance industry.  These internships exposed me to the multitude of insurance jargon and allowed me to experience first hand some of the things learned via my degree program. This helped to solidify my thoughts of a future career within the insurance industry. Internships are great because they allow students to gain corporate experience and awareness.
The things that led me to choose Aspen as an employer were its people and the exceptional opportunities available for learning and gaining experience. After the interview process, I felt confident that I wanted to be a part of the Aspen team. The graduate program is one good example of Aspen's continued efforts to support the training and development of its employees.

Having successfully completed the Graduate programme, each day still offers new and exciting challenges.  There is much to learn in this multi-faceted industry and Aspen is committed to providing growth opportunities as an investment in its human capital. For example, I had the opportunity to spend six months in our London office to expand my knowledge base of the company's group operations.     

Aspen's employees are highly talented and are willing to share their knowledge with other members of the team. There are many careers available within Aspen, including IT, Risk Management, Underwriting, Actuarial and Finance, amongst others.
