Graduate FAQs
Where am I likely to be located?
London is our major centre of operations and the majority of our graduates will be based there. However opportunities in Bermuda are also currently available. Please see the Graduate Opportunities section for a list of current roles available.
Can I choose whether I work in London or Bermuda?
Before you apply you will need to decide which location you would like to be based in. For all opportunities, applicants will need to have residency or the right to work in the country to which they are applying. Aspen will not sponsor work permits.
Are there any training opportunities within the Aspen Group?
At Aspen, we actively encourage training and development of all our employees. We provide a Graduate Development Programme tailored for our graduates. In addition, we run internal and external training programmes covering a variety of subjects to which graduates may attend. Graduates are also expected to study for relevant professional qualifications and will be supported (both professionally and financially!).
What qualifications do I need to apply for a graduate position within the Aspen Group?
We welcome applications from graduates with Maths A-level (or equivalent) and a 2.1 or above degree classification, or 3.0 grade point average or above (or international equivalent). We recruit from a diverse range of degree disciplines. We will be looking for evidence of the skills and abilities outlined in the Graduate Opportunities section of the site.
Can I move between business areas?
After completion of the initial training, most graduates remain in the area they originally joined. However there may be opportunities in other business departments as your career progresses and many of our graduates have taken advantage of these opportunities.
How should I apply for a graduate training opportunity?
The applications deadline for 2008 graduate opportunities in London is 30 November 2007. Please apply via our online application form.
We are continually looking for talented graduates in Bermuda. If you are interested in applying for a graduate position in Bermuda please email your CV to Tracey.Berkeley@aspen.bm
I am not a recent graduate but do have several years' work experience. Can I still apply to work within the Aspen Group?
We will accept applications from graduates of all ages and experience for the Aspen Graduate Programme.
However, if you have several years of experience we may have roles at Aspen which will be better suited to your experience and increased skills and competency set. You may prefer to forward your CV to aspenHR@aspen-re.com in application for other vacancies at Aspen.
